Specifications of works
A standardised specification of works is a compilation of texts that describes standard services including both legal and technical regulations (contractual conditions) as well as the selected terms for a specified specification of works.
Guidelines and Regulations for the Planning, Construction and Maintenance of Roadways (RVS)
This regularly updated set of rules and regulations deals with issues relating to transportation and roadways and is prepared by the FSV. It is available both as a downloadable version and on CD as well as in print form (loose-leaf edition). The RVS codes are available from the FSV headquarters either as single documents or on a subscription basis.

FSV Journal Series
The FSV journal series began in 2007 and serves as a platform for various publications such as meeting reports and final reports of FSV commissions as well as for the documentation of new findings with regard to roadway-related issues.
Roadway Research Journals
The Austrian Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology publishes research reports in the roadway research journal series (“Green Series”). The journals are available from the FSV shop.
The FSV dictionary includes a collection of terms that are defined in the guidelines for the planning, construction and maintenance of roadways (RVS). This allows for both the easier locating of definitions of roadway-related terms and greater consistency in the preparation or revision of RVS codes, as existing terms are clearly defined and so need not be redefined a second time.
Traffic Sign Catalogue
On 1 December 2015, the Austrian Research Association for Roads, Railways and Transport published a traffic sign catalogue (RVS 05.02.15), which has been prepared in collaboration with experts from both the Austrian provincial governments and the Austrian Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology, including outside experts working in the fields of both science and economy.
FSV-aktuell Straße (FSV Roadway News) and FSV-aktuell Schiene (FSV Railway News)
In order to expand the association’s profile in expert circles the FSV periodically publishes articles, FSV Roadway News and FSV Railway News in professional journals.
The EuroKommunal Magazine
The FSV has cooperated with the professional magazine for Austrian cities and municipalities – the EuroKommunal Magazine – since early 2012. This involves the monthly preparation and publishing of an article on a current issue regarding transportation.
Both the Code for the Planning, Construction and Maintenance of Roads (RVS) and the Code for the Planning, Construction and Maintenance of Railways (RVE) as well as the Road Research Journals and the FSV journal series are also available by subscription, ensuring that you’ll always receive the most recent updates in terms of the technical state of the art.
